About the Technics SL-10
Created and designed by Shuichi Obata in 1979, the SL-10 was the first linear-tracking turntable to feature direct drive, a Technics innovation dating back to 1969 with the SP-10 Mk I.
The Technics SL-10 is an extraordinarily compact and ingenious integrated player of superb external appearance. It has the same width and depth dimensions as an LP record jacket, yet within the compact package are an amazingly precise drive system.
Recognised for its revolutionary technologies and design,
the SL-10 joined the permanent collection at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art).
The box
The Technics SL-10 is one of the most wanted and owned turntable by the (vintage) HI-FI collectors. But many of them have not the original box and every collectors know that a collector's item is better with its package...
We think
this legendary turntable deserves a re-edition of its original packaging which has become rare...
So, we have worked on the cardboard template with a packaging specialist to recreate the original box at the same dimensions.
Length and height: 37 cm / 14,6 inch.
Width: 13 cm / 5,11 inch.

Template of the re-edited box
We have also worked on the graphic design to reproduce the original visuals and texts in details. Finally, we have found the perfect provider for the print and the cut of the box.
Technically, we have improved the quality of the original box with doublewall E+E flute (2.3 mm thickness) instead of simple E for a better durability and protection.
